YALI RLC ONLINE PARTICIPANTS AWARDED FOR OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE
The Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) West-Africa Regional Leadership Center, Accra Ghana awarded her online participants for their outstanding performance in the online training track.
According to one of the award recipients, Anita Ajah, RLC online Cohort 6, “It came as a big surprise when one of the awardees contacted me to connect with the person with my package because I had completely forgotten about it and moved on”.
This award was in accordance with the promise of Dr. Shola, Safo-Duodo, YALI RLC West-Africa Director during the Cohort 6 training closing ceremony held on June 2018 at the Administrative Staff College Of Nigeria (ASCON), Badagry, Lagos State.
Anita while chatting with the Nigeria Alumni Communication team correspondence said that the news about award was a surprise to her and this goes a long way to show the integrity of the organization and boosted her confidence. She added that “I am happy YALI is fulfilling their promise by leading examples and for their commitment in ensuring that the-not-too-young-to-lead 'the youths' are consistently being reminded of our position in our various society. We are to lead, and must do that by being an example”.
Anita participated in the training under the Business and Entrepreneurship track. Prior to the training, she has a hands-on business experience of 8years as the CEO of A-BETA Entertainment, a content production company. She is the founder of GraceLife Foundation, an NGO aimed at empowering less privileged children and women in ICT, vocation, business and leadership.
Volunteering is her way of giving back to the society to as she desires to see striving small businesses become successful. She volunteers with Lepsta, Google, brownbutton amongst others. Working with Lepsta Community of Developers and her background as a computer Science graduate from Lagos State University has helped sharpen her programing/coding skills and her abilities to reach out to more people through her foundation.
The award came with in form of material package which includes: bag pack, notebook, T.shirts & Tablets.
