Ogbemudia Eddy Uwoghiren

He is an Emergency healthcare advocate, Social Entrepreneur and journalist.
With a certificate in Citizen Journalism, he has over three years’ experience in Campus and investigative medical journalism with numerous feature stories that have influenced change to his credit.
Eddy is the founder of LifeSavers Initiative For First AID Education Nigeria (LifeSaversNG), a youth led organization training Nigerians in Basic First AID skills to save lives and techniques to be confident in approaching emergencies.
Through his advocacy work, he hopes to create a world where everyone has First AID skills and safer Emergency rooms across hospitals in Nigeria.

In June 2019, the YALI RLC Alumnus, Ogbemudia Eddy Uwoghiren participated in the Global Youth Advancement Summit that held at the Michigan State university in East Lasing, Michigan, United States of America.

At the programme, Eddy made a presentation on his proposal titled ‘When Death is Faster and Cheaper than Help” where he spoke about emergency healthcare in developing countries, opportunities available, challenges as well as models for incorporating standardized emergency healthcare to ensure no one is left behind in times of emergency conditions.

He also used the opportunity to share with the audience the work he does with his organization- The LifeSavers Initiative For First AID Education Nigeria (LifeSaversNG) which trains community dwellers in First AID skills as well as Basic Life Support skills in Benin City, Edo state.

The Global Youth Advancement summit which was organized by the Michigan State University is an annual programme which gathers young persons across the world to address and develop innovative solutions to major challenges confronting the world. With a focus on inequality, the programme will afford delegates opportunity to exchange ideas, showcase innovative products and services, pitch their business ventures and build genuine network that will enable them to collaboratively define their future in a way that is equitable, just and sustainable.
