US Consulate is creating more opportunities for YALI RLC Alumni Members to Flourish — Wofai Samuel.

The United States Consulate General played host to members from all it’s exchange programs in Nigeria, which comprised members from more than 10 Alumni Organizations.

The statement released by the Communications Chair, Wofai Samuel, stated:

‘’The lunch event was held on Thursday, September 17th, 2021. We began at 1.00PM. Present at the Event, were:

Hammed Rauf — President RLC Alumni Nigeria,
Wofai Samuel — Director of Communication at YALI RLC Nigeria,
Tinuola Aina — Secretary General of the USGEAA,
Toluse Dove — Deputy Secretary of the USGEAA, to name a few.

The event began with the Cultural Affairs Assistant, Doyinsola Akpalara, demonstrating on the ills of fake news in the society and urged everyone to desist from spreading fake news.

This was accompanied by a welcome address from the Deputy PAO of the US Consulate, she commended activities of all Exchange programs.

Speeches from other exchange programs were shared during this event, in this regard, they emphasized the need for us to look beyond the US Consulate to access funds, request for international collaborations and internal collaborations between one another in our various exchange programs.

Smaller grants will be made available for alumni members to apply in a competitive process

The dates and timing will be shared with us when released next year.

An Alumni summit is scheduled to hold by end of the year and we will be in the know when information is shared.

The event came to a close with a speech by the PAO ,who expressed his excitement about the work and commitment of young Nigerians and promised to further support all exchange programs under the U.S as we move forward’’, She concluded.
