Obasanjo Fajemirokun, Events & Networking Chairman — 2021

There is no greater honour than to serve humanity and a greater cause beyond oneself.

In December 2020, I was elected as the Events and Networking Chairman by a majority vote during the YALI RLC Nigeria Alumni Association elections.

This ushered in 5 ChangeMakers, who led the association’s affairs during the post-Covid era.

I am honoured to have served with my resourceful executives, who had a strong passion for change.

I led various projects of the administration through my office, some of which are the YALI RLC Nigeria Alumni Association Twitter chat, Grant Training Workshop for Alumni Members, as facilitated by The MWF/YALI Coordinator at the US Embassy in Abuja, Mr Diran Adegoke and implementation of the first-ever YALI RLC Nigeria Alumni Association school Tour across 19+ states in Nigeria, which sensitised 3,296 students and 159 teachers from 21 schools in 21 communities across 16 states in Nigeria with 39 committed volunteers.

I, in my capacity as the Event Chairman, along with my prolific executives, also initiated the groundwork and implementation of the first-ever YALI RLC Nigeria Alumni Association National Conference, which aims to bring together physically over 200 alumni to interact, connect, support each other and network to scale alumni activities and impact across Nigeria.

It was an honour to have served over 3,000 alumni of the Young African Leaders Initiative, Regional Leadership Center, Nigeria Alumni Association.

In all, It will be unfair on my part not to appreciate all alumni and volunteers who participated in implementing the above projects. Thank you, volunteers, of our school tour project and partner (STEMi Africa).

Thank you, members of the National Conference Planning committee; you all laid an excellent foundation for the accomplishment of the first National Conference.

Thank you for believing in me. Thank you for the opportunity to serve and volunteer. Thank you for the opportunity to grow and implement all the above.

God bless you all.

Long live YALI RLC Nigeria Alumni Association.
