FAREWELL SPEECH BY TEMITAYO OLATUNDE (Speaker Bureau Chair 2019–2021)

During 2018 YALI RLC Nigeria Alumni conference; I met Amanda Chirpy who encouraged me to contest in the alumni election. I was new to the system but felt I should attempt to contest for the position of Speaker Bureau Chair. I contested and I won in 2019. The position positioned me to practice what I learnt during the RLC leadership training. I learned teamwork, tolerance and servant leadership.

After our administration, the alumni expressed confidence in me and called me to continue my good work which eventually ushered me in again with a landslide winning.

As the first person to occupy the said position in the national alumni two times, I got two different opportunities to serve and learn. During my service as the Speaker Bureau Chair, I co-championed YALI First Aid project and personally sponsored over 20 certificates for doctors who volunteered. I offered a free service of graphics design that was used during 2019/2020 and some part of 2021 administrations. I sponsored the certificates that were given to those who attended the 2021 YALI RLC Nigeria event in Abuja, of which one was presented to the American Space representative. I partnered with some media platforms that publicized some of our activities among other things I was able to do.

I represented the alumni chapter at the US Consulate YALI Clean up campaign where I coordinated the project in Oyo State. YALI RLC Nigeria Alumni leadership has helped me network and learn new things in life.

Dear leaders, I am very happy I served you and I appreciate you for believing in me. God will continue to guide our endeavors.

Thank you

Temitayo Olatunde

Ex-Speaker Bureau Chair
