I was humbled and honored to be nominated and voted in as the National Secretary by our distinguished alumni members. Being part of the executive team have been a fantastic learning experience. Despite the pandemic situation, we were able to push through all odds; overcoming each challenge while working together for the common interest of our members. Indeed Helen Keller was right to say “Together we can do so much”, this played in our team of which I am proud of.

The two most memorable events which inspired my life during my tenure as the National Secretary were the planning of the graduation ceremony for the 25 young Nigerians trained last year during the basic Mental Health First Aid & Lay Counselling Skills in Abuja and the First Aid Project launched on 30th April 2020 to provide online based First Aid Care and cater for the well- being of members and the general public during the lockdown periods.

I want to sincerely thank our members for their tireless support, love, encouragement, and positive contribution towards sailing our ship YALI RLC Nigeria Alumni forward. The strength of our team is each member; the strength of each member is the team. Let’s continue to work together towards progress. Thank you for making my journey a memorable one.

Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year.

With Love from Maggie
