FAREWELL SPEECH

Samirah Bello: National Secretary

Dear Distinguished Alumni Members,

According to Robert Gallagher, "Change is inevitable." It is inevitable and indeed gratifying to see myself and other outstanding members of the intelligent, committed, and ever-resourceful Executive Committee of the YALI RLC West Africa Nigerian Alumni Chapter who will be handing over to a new crop of leaders following the outcome of tomorrow's election.

It has been a great honour and privilege to serve as the National Secretary of this significant association. I must say even though we had quite a few challenges, we still carried out so many impactful projects and created beautiful memories along the journey.

I can testify to the exceptional manners of leadership manifested by the Alumni President in the person of Aisha Bubah, and the entire Executive Team, who are now making us leave behind an indelible legacy of excellence and achievements, which am sure will stand the test of time as we have broken a record and set the bar high.

However, all the achievements and applause cannot be possible without the participation, commitment, encouragement, checks, and involvement of you all (every single alumni member), and I do not doubt that you will continue to support the next set of leaders with more commitment and encouragement.

I want to sincerely say THANK YOU as this has been a great journey.
