Dele FAYEMI

Dele is an online cohort 7 Alumnus and a vibrant young man advocating for better drug policies and sexual and reproductive health and rights. Over the past five years, he has been involved in grassroot youth development and volunteering. He is dedicated to reaching the unreached and lending a voice to the voiceless in the society.

He is a passionate drug policy reform advocate. He currently is the Abuja Coordinator of Students for Sensible Drug Policy (SSDP) Nigeria, an international youth led organization advocating for evidence based drug policies. Also, as an HIV Peer Educator, he has coached and educated more than 400 youths including students in Nasarawa, Edo and Abuja. In June 2019, he was selected as a consultant among 9 other youths across Nigeria in a high level consultancy meeting by YouthRISE Nigeria to formulate a model School Based Drug Policy in Nigeria.

In 2017, he was the Secretary General of the Medical and Community Health Service Group of NYSC Lafia, Nasarawa state where he was able to along with his team implement free health programs that benefitted more than 3000 rural dwellers.

He has volunteered with several organization including Institute of Human Virology Nigeria (IHVN), Strategy and Innovation for Development (SI4DEV), Family Healthcare Initiative (FAHCI), to mention a few. He is a Global Health Mentee under the Global Health Mentorship Program 2019.
